This painting was inspired by this majestic mule deer, subtle colors and textures of the foliage interwoven with the snow. I began with a resist method laying down a texture pattern while establishing color values, mood and composition. When this was dry I analyzed any intriguing accidental textures or color blends that happened. Then I enhanced the best suggestions to create the finished painting. SO FUN. It was accepted into the Rocky Mountain Watermedia Competition.
